Pray 4 Canada
4 Sundays – April 25, May 2, May 9, May 16.
12:00pm – 1:00pm
Pray 4 Canada
On your own or with your entire family set aside some time to pray for Canada sometime during the 12:00pm-1:00pm hour for 4 Sunday afternoons. Pray on your driveway, in your home, in your backyard, on your balcony, or even during a walk around your neighbourhood. But please pray!
We believe that God is sovereign and that he is at work. We also know that we are in desperate need of the Spirit of God to move in our hearts, churches, and our country. Whether it is COVID-19 and ongoing government restrictions or the development of public policy that opposes the biblical worldview we are facing significant spiritual, emotional, and physical challenges.
Please join us in praying for Canada and the Church in Canada.
Pray for the Church
“I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”
For Fervent Prayer
“That they ought always to pray and not lose heart.” Luke 18:1
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16
That we would repent of our idols of comfort and convenience and have hearts full of conviction and commitment.
“Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.” Revelation 3:19
“if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
For Our Witness
That we would be salt and light.
“You are the salt of the earth . . . You are the light of the world . . . In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven” Matthew 5:13-16
That we would be united.
Having the mind of Christ, the humility of Christ.
“eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.” Ephesians 4:3
That we would serve.
“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.” John 13:14
That we would be bold declaring the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16
Pray for our Country
“May he have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth!”
That God would be glorified.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God, just as I try to please everyone in everything that I do, not seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved. 1 Corinthians 10:31-33
That God would set apart his workers.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.” Luke 10:2
That lives would be transformed.
“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12
That the sanctity of life would be upheld.
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27
That our leaders would be wise, honour God and protect our rights and freedoms. Pray for our Prime Minister, Provincial Premiers, Members of Parliaments and Municipal Governments.
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
During COVID-19 and these days of physical, emotional and economic challenge and loss . . .
That many would turn to God and experience his refuge and strength.
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
That those who are sick and grieving would be healed and comforted physically and spiritually.
“O Lord my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.” Psalm 30:2
That God would use this time to turn our hearts back to him.
“Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster.” Joel 2:13
